Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights:
These rights are available under various state laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), and others.
To exercise your rights, contact us at legal@yard-crawl.com. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days or as required by your state's law.
We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by applicable state privacy laws. We do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not sell or share personal information, no additional technical action is required to honor a “do not sell or share” preference. We still accept opt-out requests at legal@yard-crawl.com and treat Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information.
We collect precise geolocation data (sale addresses and coordinates), which is classified as sensitive personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. This data is necessary to provide the core service of displaying yard sales on a map. We use sensitive personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide the services you expect from YardCrawl. You may request that we limit the use of your sensitive personal information by contacting us at legal@yard-crawl.com.
We do not use automated decision-making to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. We may use automated tools to moderate content (such as keyword filtering) to help enforce our community guidelines.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. We will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.
Where required by applicable state law (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Delaware, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Texas, Minnesota, and Maryland), we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, a GPC signal does not change how we process your data in practice. You may also email legal@yard-crawl.com to confirm an opt-out preference on your account.
YardCrawl is not directed at children under 18. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or list a sale. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
We use essential cookies for authentication (Supabase session cookies). We also use a short-lived first-party cookie ("yc_utm", 30-minute expiry) to remember how you arrived at our site (e.g., from Facebook or an email link). This cookie stores only the referral source name — no personal information — and is used to show sellers which sharing channels drive traffic to their listings. If you arrive via a referral link, we store a "yc_ref" cookie (30-day expiry) containing only the referrer's anonymous code so that both you and the referrer receive discount credits upon signup. When you participate in our referral program, we store your unique referral code, which users you referred, and your discount credit history (issuance, redemption, and expiry). This data is included in your data export and deleted when you delete your account. We use PostHog for product analytics covering page views and product usage events. PostHog requests are routed through a first-party proxy on our own domain and then forwarded to PostHog's servers in the United States. If you are signed in, we identify you to PostHog by your internal user ID only — never your email address, name, or address. We do not enable session recording or automatic capture of your clicks and keystrokes, and we do not use cross-site advertising identifiers. PostHog stores identifiers in first-party browser storage (localStorage and a cookie) so we can recognize returning visitors and group activity into a session. Separately, we record first-party product analytics events in our Supabase database (for example feature usage, sign-in method, or sale-related actions). Some of those events may include internal identifiers such as a user ID or sale ID so we can operate and improve the product; they are not sold or used for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may block analytics scripts by disabling JavaScript; first-party event logging tied to authenticated product use may still occur when you use the service.
Your personal information is processed and stored in the United States. Our third-party service providers process data in the United States and other countries where they maintain facilities.
In the event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law, including within 30 days of discovery as required by California law (SB-446). Notification will be sent to the email address associated with your account.
Email us at legal@yard-crawl.com with your request. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days (for CCPA requests) or as required by applicable law.
We will notify you of material changes to this policy via email and/or a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
